Consult the following list of documents that will need to be obtained for a civil wedding, depending on your country of origin..

European Union Citizens

  1. Copies of the passports (photocopy) of the couple (bride and groom)
  2. Birth certificate of the bride and groom with the names of their parents
  3. Marriage clearance certificate (marriage certificate)
  4. Divorce certificate for each party, in the case of a previous marriage
  5. Official document issued by a court in the event of the bride or groom's name being changed
  6. Adoption Certificate (if any)
  7. Passport copies of 2 witnesses

  1. Copies of the passports (photocopy) of the couple (bride and groom)
  2. Birth certificate of the bride and groom with the names of their parents (with apostille stamp)
  3. Certificate of No Impediment to Marriage with apostille stamp (this document confirms that there is no obstacle to the upcoming marriage)
  4. Divorce certificate for each party, in the case of a previous marriage, with an apostille stamp
  5. Official document issued by a court in the event of the bride or groom's name being changed
  6. Adoption Certificate (if any)
  7. Passport copies of 2 witnesses

  1. Copies of the passports (photocopy) of the couple (bride and groom)
  2. Birth certificate of the bride and groom with the names of their parents (with apostille stamp)

  6. Official document issued by a court in the event of the bride or groom's name being changed
  7. Adoption Certificate (if any)
  8. Passport copies of 2 witnesses

Important Information:

  • Apostille stamp: This stamp confirms the legalization and validity of your documents for international use (Hague Convention 1961).
  • All documents must have been translated at the Greek embassy or your Greek consulate.
  • All documents should be sent to us for review at least 6 weeks before the wedding.
  • If you come to Greece for the wedding, you must bring all the original documents with you.
  • You must be in Greece for at least one working day after the wedding to sign the marriage certificate, which will be sent to your home address.
